About Andre Revilla
Andre is an entrepreneur and writer based in Dallas, TX. He's been covering and working in the consumer tech space for over a decade. Along with contributing to Pocket Lint he is the founder of GoLCDs, a company that services phone repair shops across the country in component buybacks and recycling. He is also the founder of Del Rey Barware, a brand specializing in craft cocktail barware.
When he's not working he'll talk your ear off about investing, finance, food, or travel.
What was your first phone?
My first phone was an old Cingular flip phone in 2004. After that, and in fairly quick succession, I had a Motorola Razr, several Nokias, and my dad's old BlackBerrys. My first smartphone was the iPhone 4, and what a glorious day that was.
When did your interest in technology begin?
My father is an electrical engineer who made his career in semiconductors, so our household was always on the cutting edge of consumer tech. I have fond memories of taking apart computers during the days of dial-up internet and discussing the future of how many transistors could fit on a single chip. We were the household that discussed Moore's Law over dinner.
What tech products or categories are you most passionate about?
Consumer tech and devices that enhance peoples daily lives are my primary passion. I've made my career working in and covering this space, but I'm an admirer of anyone that pushes the envelope in the world of consumer driven tech products.
