We here at Pocket-lint love a good dashcam ourselves, but the reality is that not all of them fit into a tight budget. Additionally, if you're a first-time buyer, you might not want to jump straight into the deep end of the dashcam marketplace. ]]>Tue, 16 Dec 2025 01:00:16 GMThttps://www.pocket-lint.com/lounge-it-cell-phone-mount-review/<![CDATA[I promise this Kindle upgrade isn't worth it]]>https://www.pocket-lint.com/wireless-charging-on-kindles-pointless/Amazon's e-reader line is famous for two things: convenient, distraction-free reading and seemingly everlasting battery life. It's not as complicated as it used to be -- as anyone who remembers life before SSDs and the internet can tell you -- but at the least, there are basic software maintenance tasks, and repairing or upgrading hardware inevitably becomes difficult, if not impossible. You'll be lucky to own a computer that has parts available for a full decade. ]]>Mon, 15 Dec 2025 16:00:17 GMThttps://www.pocket-lint.com/sneaky-ways-you-might-be-damaging-your-computer/<![CDATA[Two more features coming to CarPlay for iOS 26.2 that have me excited]]>https://www.pocket-lint.com/apple-carplay-ios-update-two-features-2025/If you were like me and thought that after iOS 26 was released, Apple would leave CarPlay in the dust again, I have news for you. The company recently announced new updates and features for iOS 26.2, and a few CarPlay notes that slipped in caught my eye. ]]>Mon, 15 Dec 2025 16:00:17 GMThttps://www.pocket-lint.com/apple-carplay-ios-update-two-features-2025/<![CDATA[4 reasons I steer clear of budget laptops]]>https://www.pocket-lint.com/steer-clear-of-budget-laptops/To avoid any controversy, I don't have a problem with budget laptops just because they're cheap, or because they don't have the best specs on the market. I'm a believer in using the right tool for the job -- but also in money well-spent, regardless of how wealthy you are. There's no sense dropping $2,000 on a laptop if you won't be handling anything more complex than web browsing and emails. For that, an iPad or Android tablet is probably enough. ]]>Mon, 15 Dec 2025 12:00:16 GMThttps://www.pocket-lint.com/steer-clear-of-budget-laptops/<![CDATA[These $250 earbuds solve a big problem for lossless newbies]]>https://www.pocket-lint.com/review-campfire-audio-axion/For better, for worse, or indifferent, lossless audio is a thing. Personally, I think it's for the better, but if you've read my coverage, you know there's an added expense to getting the most out of it. That's where Campfire Audio comes in. For those who don't want to carry around multiple devices, the Campfire Audio Axion features a cable with an inline microphone with button controls that terminates in a quality built-in USB-C DAC—plug-and-play lossless audio access in one tight, upgradeable package. ]]>Mon, 15 Dec 2025 11:00:16 GMThttps://www.pocket-lint.com/review-campfire-audio-axion/<![CDATA[Dear laptop makers, stop taking away my ports and slots]]>https://www.pocket-lint.com/dear-laptop-makers-stop-taking-away-ports-and-slots/For a long time, I avoided buying a laptop. That might sound strange for someone who writes for a living, but if your interests include PC gaming like mine do, a desktop tower is always going to be the most economical option. It costs more to get miniaturized specs with any performance, and you can upgrade many desktop parts at will, instead of just storage or RAM. Ultimately, the best performance is only possible with a desktop, since there's far more room for memory, processor cores, and cooling. ]]>Sun, 14 Dec 2025 16:00:16 GMThttps://www.pocket-lint.com/dear-laptop-makers-stop-taking-away-ports-and-slots/<![CDATA[4 crucial checks I use when buying a used car]]>https://www.pocket-lint.com/crucial-checks-when-buying-a-used-car/I haven't bought a new car in years, and I most likely never will again. It does not mean I buy clunkers, or ancient wrecks. I know what kind of car I want -- in my case, a compact SUV -- and I look for one that is two to three years old, with acceptable mileage. My last two were ex-rental cars, and I bought them from reputable dealers. I know I'll get a better price buying privately, but the dealers I know feel less risky, and the hassle factor is much lower. But if you are confident, by all means buy privately. ]]>Sun, 14 Dec 2025 15:00:16 GMThttps://www.pocket-lint.com/crucial-checks-when-buying-a-used-car/
