If you've been eyeing the new tech trend of purpose-built writing tablets, then now might finally be the right time to tap on that all too familiar order button. For Black Friday 2025, ReMarkable is listing refurbished units of its latest full-sized tablet, the Paper Pro, bundled together with two unopened peripherals, for a total cost of $600 -- that's a savings of $260 off its regular bundled price tag.
If you'd rather stick with just a refurbished Paper Pro tablet together with a new Marker stylus, then the bundle lowers down to around $500, making for a more palatable price tag. For reference, new Paper Pro tablets normally cost $630, and the standard Marker is regularly listed at $79.

The reMarkable Paper Pro is an excellent writing tablet
The Paper Pro is normally an expensive proposition, but this Black Friday deal softens the blow considerably
Over time, I've increasingly become a fan of purpose-built mobile gadgets that do one thing, and do it well. While it's true that an iPad can serve as an all-in-one sketchpad, game console, and e-reader, the end-user experience isn't nearly as slick as it is when using a separate writing tablet, handheld gaming system, and eReader device.
I'm fully on board with dedicated sketching tablets that ship with ePaper or E Ink displays, as they push back against online distractions, while also offering a superior digital pen-to-paper approximation when compared to the average iPad or Android tab. reMarkable is one of the biggest names in this space at the moment, right alongside Amazon with its Kindle Scribe, but neither of these devices are necessarily affordable gadgets.
At a relatively cost-prohibitive price point, it's difficult to recommend picking up a reMarkable Paper Pro as a casual secondary device to pair with a PC or standard tablet. While I'm hoping to see an industry-wide cost reduction on writing slabs due to economies of scale, reMarkable's current Black Friday sale is arguably the next best thing.
