See All5 pointless Windows maintenance tasks you should stop immediately
Useful item, puts a lot of my recent questions all in one place. I have (>> had) a Utilities app, makes a big point of how many GB saved over all time. On closer inspection, its effectively the same, or near-same, 600 or so MB temp files, rolled over again and again to no net effect, except for SSD wear-and-tear. Stopped that! One last point, some still contend that, for financial transactions, where losses can be extreme, a top-rated AV is a wise precaution. After years of malware dread, going with Win11 Security w/o an AV app is akin to getting into a vehicle with no seatbelts. An article dealing with that nagging concern would be a great follow-up.
Your power strip's USB ports are more powerful than you think
Many newer desktop lamps have a single USB-A port, handy for multiple locations around the house. One question is purity of the power delivered to small electronic devices. Don't have a scope anymore to check waveform, are these types of USB outlets generally safe, and I'm including those in power supplies, extension boxes, etc?
4 ways mobile browsers are actually safer than desktop
A useful learning moment, presented with some authority, thanks, Roger.
5 settings I always change in the Android Phone app
I was about to come up for air, but Custom Ringtones, now there's something some of us might find useful. Overall, learned a bit here that I likely wouldn't have come across by myself, thanks.
Even if Fire TV was free I wouldn't want it
I've come to the view that Amazon is doing exactly what the audience signals what it will tolerate, even if most call it time-wasting grazing. All this brought to you by the same attitude of those who fail to use the internet safely, sending signals to scammers to perpetuate their game. Fight back, e.g., click on the link to an objectionable ad multiple times without actually viewing the pitch, enough of that sort of reaction will force the rulers of the "ecosystem" to pause to think. I pay for content to avoid the ad pitches, first sign of ads on paid services and I'm gone. Even my ISP is doing it now, plus hijacking my preferred browser, so looking to go elsewhere.
Your carrier could be faking your phone's signal bars, with Google's help
Nice to see that integrity still matters in the user community, good luck on moving that on upstairs to corporate types. Imagine annual incentive awards based on career suicide...
