Ahead of November's regularly-scheduled Google Pixel Feature Drop, leaked images of the upcoming Android update have surfaced on Telegram via a post made by Mystic Leaks. These screenshots, which appear to be legitimate, depict an updated version of the Pixel's built-in Tips app, of which three new software features are highlighted on-screen.

Next is a new Pixel Studio animations feature, which allows you to "easily transform any image or Pixel Studio creation into a into a [sic] GIF or animated sticker." The feature appears to live within the existing Pixel Studio application, with a new Animate image button situated within the UI for starting the GIF making flow.

Google hasn't commented on this leak as yet, and there's still no official release date for this next Pixel Feature Drop.

Lastly, a new prioritized notifications function builds upon Android's existing VIP contact widget. The leaked feature is described as a tool that "elevates message notifications from your VIPs on messages sent via WhatsApp and Google Messages." Whereas VIPs have, until now, been limited to a simple home screen widget, important message thread notifications might soon be highlighted in yellow to feature more prominently, alongside new contact photo icons within Android's status bar.

Google hasn't commented on this leak as yet, and there's still no official release date for this next Pixel Feature Drop. Based on the company's standard Feature Drop cadence, early November seems most plausible, which is corroborated by the leaked November 4 release date indicated within these Mystic Leaks images.

This next Pixel Feature Drop is shaping up to be a solid one

More Android updates are also slated to arrive sometime this December

Feature Drops are one of my favorite aspects of the entire Pixel experience. Multiple times per year, Google unleashes a set of new features and enhancements onto its currently-in-support Pixel smartphones -- these drops are a cherry on top of the standard Android OS platform updates that normally arrive once every year.

Sometimes, these Feature Drops are fairly minor and don't bring a lot to the table, but this leaked November 2025 drop is shaping up to be a solid offering. The GIF creator is a bit take-it-or-leave-it in my opinion, but I'm fond of more robust theming and priority contact notifications making their way to the Pixel.

Additionally, Google's next Android update is set to arrive this December, in the form of the Android 16 Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) 2. Currently in beta testing, this release is set to bring refinement to the Material 3 Expressive design language, as well as custom app icon shapes, forced icon theming, the return of lock screen widgets, and a more powerful dark mode implementation.

With both Android 16 QPR2 and this newly leaked Pixel Drop in mind, it's looking like Pixel users will be eating well for the rest of the 2025 calendar year.
