Though other options were floated, including Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Ghost World and even Josie and the Pussycats, it's hard to argue with Craig's initial pick, and recently The New York Times ranked The Dark Knight as the 28th best film of the 21st century, making it the highest ranking superhero movie on the list, easily beating out Black Panther, which was ranked at 96 (the only other superhero movie on the list).
